Gather 'round and I shall tell a tale. . .

"What is a Mekboy?" you ask. Well a Mekboy in the true sense is a character in a miniature table-top war-game titled Warhammer 40,000, made by the superior company Games Workshop . The idea is to build and paint armies of miniature figures, and then wage war. Well one of the races or armies that one can play is know as the "Orks", green skin humanoids that prefer to shoot first and then shoot s'more later, and solve problems by bashing things. The army is characterized as a hoard of cut throat, ruthless, post apocalyptic, ominous mass; all charging head long in to battle with a rousing "Whaaag!" (I can't get enough of them!) I personally have become fond of the Mekboy characters, those who after a battle salvage anything left over at all, and take their finds back to their shops and transform scrap into devices of mass destruction. The Mekboy is most known by the huge Oxy-torch and yard-long wrenches they carry. And so the origin of the Mekboy has been reveled.

I soon came to realize while watching the first episode of Junkyard Wars (Possibly the best show ever, where two teams have 10 hours, a junkyard, and a shop to build a machine and then compete.) that these people I was watching were Mekboyz (and Mekgirlz). They too tossed around spanners and torches, and fixed thing with the end of a hammer. I also thought of myself as a Mekboy, having the same seat-of-your-pants mechanical abilities. I also much desired to be part of "The Crowd", the minuscule subculture of people who build crazy things: the Punkin' Chunkers, the Go-Kart builders, the potato cannoniers, the kinetic sculptors, the gearheads and any other person who finds refuge in their shops to tinker and invent and bring forth strange and wonderful creations.

So Chris and I, who had been building spud guns and the like, and had aspirations to build great creations became "The Mekboyz" a demonic duo of dastardly diabolical development, a group similar to those who have appeared on Junkyard Wars. As I mentioned before, we build things. We are two teens who have a little too much motor oil in our blood, and so there you have it. We are the Mekboyz, below are some general pictures.
